RIDER IN THE NIGHT

Riding all alone astride his
motorbike, at night
Throbbing of the engine,
lonely sound
Driven by the devils of his loneliness,
he'll ride
A thousand miles before he
turns around.

Riding like the wind,
heeling round the bends
Carrying his demons, for he must
Thinking of the woman
whom he lost so long ago
Now he can't remember how to trust

Helmet hides his face, conceals
the clenching of his jaw.
Tall and rangy body clad in leather
Pain of her betrayal burning
deep inside his heart
Way back in the times they
were together.

He's a highway going nowhere,
he's a story with out end.
As he rides the lonely
journey of the night
He's an ocean without water,
he's the night without the stars
He's a race without a finishline in sight

And hes yearning for a woman who has
lightning in her eyes
The deep and burning windows of her soul
A fire in her belly,
and a wanting just for him
An endless burning need
she cant control

And he wants her to be with him
through the long and lonely nights
Through the darkness of the night
until the dawning
The burning of desire, and
her sweet and gentle touch
To wake up still beside her in
the morning.

He rides on through the night with
desperation in his eyes
Within his soul a deep and
hungry yearning.
Wind thats shrieking lonely like a
banshee through his hair
Pain within his heart forever burning

Rider in the night,
please turn around and look at me
Take my hand, and you will realise
Feelings running deeply and
as yet unrecognised
You will see them written in my eyes.

Rider in the night please turn around
and take my hand
Hold me, til the fears are all but gone
Hold me close and you will feel
the beating of my heart.
And you will no longer ride alone.
