If you asked me to ride with you,
What would I say?
Would I dismiss every word?
Or say yes straight away?

If you spoke of your feelings,
What would I do?
Would I believe that you meant it?
Or say it's untrue?

If I said that I want you,
Would it be a mistake?
Am I being foolish if
That risk I did take?

Would I worry what others
May be thinking or say?
Could I ignore all the gossip,
It's my life, come what may?

If I accepted your offer
Could I honestly see,
Whatever your life,
You'd make room for me?

Could I hold my thoughts
Could I handle it all.
Could I stand aside
When you answer the call?

If I told you I'd loved you,
Right from day one,
Would you stay by my side?
Whatever may come?

If you asked me once more,
What would I say?
Not now it's too soon,
But later I may?

You've not asked the question,
So, the answer's unknown.
Will we ride off together?
Or remain on our own?
