Love Is
If there were an easy answer to what love is,
Then all the poets, writers, artists, musicians,
Would have nothing to justify their misery.
The truth is that love itself is quite simple;
You either feel it or you don't.
Here are my thoughts on what love is.
It is said, "True Love" is boundless and immeasurable.
It overcomes all forms of adversity.
In truth, if it is genuine, it will grow stronger
With each assault upon its existence.
Hard times will draw you closer together.
Good times will bind you for ever.
So, love is feeling secure, wanted, needed, respected, trusted.
Love is accepting faults on both sides and working through it.
Love is knowing your partner feels exactly the same about you.
Love is not trying to change your partner, but,
Accepting the whole person you fell in love with.
Overcoming social, age, ethnic, religious or status differences.
Never forget, love is indiscriminate!
If you love, then the world becomes infinitely larger.
Everything is a possibility, no obstacle can't be overcome.
It's not feeling insecure and needing to control.
More relationships have ended because
One of the partners blamed jealousy.
It was easier to scream: you're jealous!
Rather than try and work out something more complex.
Love is, caring, sharing, laughing and growing together.
Both feeling complete, happy and contented in an uncertain world.
Most of all, Love is feeling complete.
Both wondering how you ever existed apart.
Love is wanting to be with one person, come what may.
Love takes many forms but one thing is for sure -
Without love we would cease to exist.
